OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of our association is to promote, protect and preserve the picturesque area that surrounds South Bristol and the Naples Valley. By doing so, we hope to support one of our region’s strongest economic assets – the scenic hillsides and natural beauty of the landscape.

Who We Are:
A coalition of concerned individuals, business owners, property owners, conservationists, and civic officials who have joined together to ensure that the Bristol Hills region will remain for our children and grandchildren the unique environmental and economic resource it is today.
We love this area and want to preserve its beauty and value. Many of us call this area home. Some of us grew up here and many are raising our families here. Others have moved here for the quality of life or to enjoy a second home. For many thousands more, Naples and the Bristol Hills are a place to come to spend a day or more — for fishing, camping, skiing, hiking, hunting or just enjoying a drive in the country with a stop for grape pie.
OUR GOAL:
Enlist the support of officials in the Town of South Bristol, Town of Naples and Village of Naples; the area’s elected state and U.S. officials; regional agencies that govern economic and environmental policies; and the NYS Public Service Commission in urging RG&E-NYSEG to find another way to solve their electricity supply problems in order to preserve the region’s economy and beauty.Work with officials in the Towns of South Bristol and Naples, and the Village of Naples to pass zoning codes and review processes that would prevent despoiling of the region’s landscapes in the future.

We currently oppose the installation of a 100-foot wide swath of power lines 16 miles long, 65 feet in the air. We believe this RG&E-NYSEG plan risks harming an already weak economy and poses a threat to the environment.

ASSOCIATION GOALS:
Urge RG&E-NYSEG to listen to area residents and show the justification for this line. If it is justified, we expect them to bury the power lines rather than run them above ground through a 16-mile area, long cherished for its scenic beauty, recreational activity and strong property values.To maintain stewardship over the Naples Valley Bristol Hills in the years ahead.
